Glass Wall Design for Formshop

2024

Spatial Design
Visual Design

Formshop is a creative K–12 STEM education organization and makerspace. In 2024, they relocated to a new 2000 m² facility and commissioned me to design the visual identity for the glass walls throughout their classrooms, woodshops, and creative studios.

The design aimed to transform ordinary glass partitions into vibrant, multifunctional surfaces that reflect Formshop’s mission and inspire creativity in young learners. Building on the visual language of their dot-and-line logo, I developed a bold composition of yellow, white and green as primary tones, balanced with gray, blue and red accents, to create a dynamic yet cohesive atmosphere across different zones.

Each section was visually distinguished while maintaining a unified look, using large color blocks to divide space and integrate display areas where students and teachers could showcase their work. Slogans applied directly onto the glass communicate Formshop’s educational philosophy, turning the walls into active participants in the learning environment rather than mere architectural elements.

Classroom Area

A sketch-like graphic language reflects Formshop's spirit of experimentationand making, turning the walls into evolving “works in progress.” Combinedwith a vibrant palette of teal, liaht blue, and yellow, the desian feels open.playful, and full of creative potential

Workshop Area

For the woodworking and CNC area, the glass walls feature large expanses ofgray with a more minimalist, streamlined design. This restrained visuallanguage shifts attention inward, allowing the tools, materials, and makingactivities inside the space to become the main focus.
