Freya (Feiyang) Zhuang is an interdisciplinary artist and designer working across interactive installation, electronic media, spatial environments, and material systems. Her practice is grounded in an interest in machine, especially the ways technological infrastructures, radio, signals, and everyday electronic gestures shape perception and behavior. Rather than treating technology as invisible or purely functional, her work brings attention to its physical presence through circuits, switches, electromagnetic fields, light, sound, and movement.

Her projects often take the form of immersive or responsive environments where audiences encounter systems through their bodies. She works with fabrication, physical computing, and experimental materials to create situations that are sensory, spatial, and participatory. While her work begins from artistic inquiry, the process involves research, prototyping, technical testing, and attention to how people move through and engage with a space.

Freya received her MFA in Digital + Media from the Rhode Island School of Design, after her B.S in Interactive Media Arts at New York University Shanghai.

庄菲炀是一位跨媒介艺术家与设计师，创作涉及互动装置、电子媒介、空间环境与材料系统。她的实践围绕人与机器之间的关系展开，关注技术基础设施、电子信号以及日常操作如何影响人的感知与行为。她并不将技术视为隐形的工具，而是通过电路、无线电、电磁场、光、声音与机械运动，使机器系统的物质性重新被看见。

她的作品通常以沉浸式或响应式空间的形式呈现，邀请观众通过身体进入、触发并感知系统。她结合数字制造、物理计算与实验性材料，构建具有感官性、空间性和参与性的体验。尽管作品常从艺术性的提问出发，她的创作过程也包含研究、原型制作、技术测试，以及对观众如何在空间中移动和互动的持续关注。.

庄菲炀本科毕业于上海纽约大学互动媒体艺术专业，后于罗德岛设计学院 Digital + Media 专业获得艺术硕士学位。
